JL Audio 12W6V2 Speaker Repair Kit

Kit to repair one 12 inch speaker. Comes with 1 surround, instructions, can be ordered with or without adhesive, applicator brush, and phone or email technical support. Fits a speaker cone of 8-3/4" Works on flat attach speaker cones. Works for JL 12W6V2. We also sell a repair kit for the JL 12W6.

Ordered this repair kit. Instructions were kind of vague, but found a video of another company refoaming this exact sub, so worked out good..
The surround fit perfect, and the glue seems to be working well. One this is the glue is different than what the instructions show. And there is no indication of drying time.
I waited about 1 hr after gluing the cone edge to glue the frame edge. Seemed to work well.

I had a hard time getting the speaker basket clean enough but eventually it seemed good enough. The new surround went in pretty good at first but I ran into some trouble in the second step glueing it to the basket. It kept sliding around and would not stay in position but eventually I kept working it around the edges until the adhesive began to set up and stick better and I think it went ok. I think that would be a good thing to mention in the instructions because I had a moment where I thought it might not work out. Also theres a little play in the cone that worried me but as soon as the surround was back in it felt like a new sub so if you find this dont think the cone is broken like I did its probably fine. Glad I found this kit to fix my JLs, it felt tight like a new speaker after it set up, so far so good!
