Actually really didn't need these gaskets functionally, but the repaired speakers came out looking better (like new) with them. They fit my baskets perfectly.

5 of 5 Replacing Foam around 1980 Advent 5002 Speakers June 6, 2018
Reviewer: Johnny P from Saugatuck, MI United States
WOW!  An easy little project.  I have these 1980 Advent 5002 Speakers that just get moved around, finally decided repair the foam supporting the cones.  The directions supplied were perfect.  I did 'invent' a scraping tool that allowed me to removed the old foam from the underside of the speaker cones.  I used one of those paint can/bottle openers that you get at every paint store in the world.  Before I used it, I sharpened up the curved end (the end that opens a paint can) sharply to use as a scraping tool as the width was equal to the flat end piece of the speaker code.  It scraped all of the old sticky foam away without tearing up the paper code, which by the way, is pretty tough.  I went around a couple of times and it came out clean as a whistle.  It dropped a bit of 'old foam bits' into the coil but I just vacuumed it out and all was well.
The gluing part is more patience to allow the connection between code and foam to dry and manipulate with your fingers to keep it down.

5 of 5 Rebuild of Rectilinear 2 speakers January 11, 2017
Reviewer: Robert Blankinship from Winchester, VA United States
Rebuilt the 10" speakers in this set of speakers from my military days that were found in my wife's storage after 23 or so years. I took my time read all the instructions first then proceeded. The mating of the foam ring to the cone was the hardest, had to role it as instructed on the back page, used the paper towels and bolts as suggested; kept compressing gaps with my fingers after the glue became tacky; about 30 minuets each until they stayed closed.  I practiced as suggested centering the cone, triple checked as I went along.  I took two days in order to ensure glue was fully cured between steps, I have them on my Onkyo amp  they sound like new speakers. saved me $$ and had fun learning something new. looking forward to many more years using these. If you area DIY type have fun SMILE
