5 of 5 Bar Grill Assy. and Install January 8, 2019
Reviewer: Scott Perinn from Carson City, NV United States
I've found that a few things should be done before assembly. First I took a small emery board and sanded the threaded ends of the bars flat, removing the finish(powder coat). Then I took a small brass cleaning brush(.17 cal. used to clean rifle bores), and twisted it into the threaded portion of the bar, maybe about ten turns. Removed the brush, trimmed about 1/4" off the end of the brush, I did this after I cleaned each end of the bars. Then I took a cotton swab(pipe cleaner), applied a small about of suitable cleaner(brake cleaner), to the swab and being careful not to get any cleaner on the finished surfaces of the bars, cleaned out the threaded ends. Applied a small film of some light oil(3in1), into the threaded ends of the bars and put everything together. I didn't do anything to those small screws and they easily screwed into the bars and fully seated. I figured the threads are going to have to be very clean to keep the screw heads from stripping out. Hope this helps.
