Great 6.5 inch Speaker Repair Kit August 7, 2020 Reviewer: Robert E. McAuley from Sammamish, WA United States   I replaced the foam surrounds in 3 pairs of 1970s Sonab midrange/woofer elements and these repair kits worked out great.  Pretty straightforward, although I needed to use the latex glue on one set and the solvent-based nitrile glue on the others, and their setup time/curing behavior is quite different.  So it would have been helpful to have that included in the instructions. Also, the pair with paper cones were tricky to center so the longer setup time of the latex glue was a must and a fortunate coincidence.  They had very tight tolerances so I had to run a 35Hz tone through them to hear when the voice coil was rubbing while I glued them in place.  It would have been impossible, even for an octopus, to center them with the "push-down" method of centering the cone in the instructions. All worked out great in the end and as a first-timer, I'm very pleased with the product and SpeakerWorks. Was this review helpful to you?

6-1/2" Mid July 28, 2020 Reviewer: Niassaking from Salt Lake City, UT United States   Speakers are a 1985 vintage and the new foam surrounds fit perfectly!  Installation was a breeze with the detailed instructions that were included.  The only difficult thing to do was clean all the old adhesive off!  Speakers look great and sound like new again. 6 1/2 inch Speaker Repair Kit Angled or Flat Attac April 22, 2020 Reviewer: hewitt berrien from BEND, OR United States   Good instructions, video available, good materials.  My B&O RL140’s woofer deterioration was discovered incidental to my replacing the grill cover material—after 35 years.  I followed directions; liked the trick using bolts to weight down the first stage in repair, and the one advising four small bunches of newspaper as temporary counter pressure.  Removing the mdf gadgets on my speakers was tricky, but was performed carefully and successfully.  Carefully used sharp box-cutter to cut each in half; to slice up from the metal base; and then scrape it clean (invested in a bit of Goop, mild sandpaper, and alcohol here and there).  Patience for drying time! I was able to do each pair of woofers/unit in less than one day; easier on second unit. Thank you SW for being there!  Sorry, no pictures! Was this review helpful to you?
